Physicality & Creativity
by Nicolas Vladyslav
About the workshop:
The workshop begins with a physical training based on the ground work. We warm up with a work of flexibility and stretching, connected to breathing. The weight of the body and the relaxation are used by continuing an organic and continuous movement. We continue with isolated exercises of balance techniques We work the supports and small acrobatics (the rolls, the bridges), later to develop the control of the movement in the displacement: we combine the jumps, the turns, the falls and the control. imbalance; all that by playing with risk taking, taking space, and also looking for different physical qualities. We finish the course by combining all these elements in fluid and virtuoso choreographic phrases. After this intensive warm-up, we will continue the day with a work of improvisation. The goal is to go further physically in a creative search, exploring different body states from imposed themes. To achieve this goal, we awaken our creativity with the help of musical proposals, specific game rules and concrete tasks that define the quality of the movement. After having absorbed all this information into the body, we begin the composition exercises; solo, duo or group.
