2022 we start in January with a 24 day workshop, diving into an intensive learning practice, to achieve a deep knowledge of Improvisation, under the guidance and approach of David Zambrano
About the workshop: Improvisation On Stage
Learning to use one’s life experience, being able to consciously and continuously shape one’s energy integrating the body and mind, time and space through the practice of dance improvisation, students learn to create instant pieces of dance onstage in front of an audience. The workshop begins with students improvising solos, duets, and small groups utilizing the class as an audience. Zambrano pushes the students to realize that there is always something more inside and that performing is spontaneous.
This workshop will be assisted by Florian Vuille.
Biography:
David Zambrano has been a monumental figure in the international dance community for more than 35 years, and his passion for cultural exchange continues to influence his work. Zambrano is an ambassador and liaison across many borders, bringing together artists from all over the planet for his projects. He has taught his own approach to dance in more than 75 countries and has performed at hundreds of venues across the world. His pieces range from set choreography, structured improvisation, and pure improvisation. Born in Venezuela, Zambrano spent 15 years in New York and now lives in between Amsterdam and Brussels.
Dates:
January 3rd – January 29th
(4 weeks from Mondays to Saturdays)
Time schedule:
Mondays to Fridays: 10:00 – 13:00 and 14:30 – 17:30
Saturdays: 14:00 – 16:00
During the intensive Tictac will provide open space for the participants to perform during the Crude Saturdays evenings, something Zambrano will personally challenge the participants to take part in.
The price for the 4 weeks is 1500 Euro.
The participants need to take the full workshop.
A homemade lunch is included in the price.
How to Apply?
There will be a selection procedure for attending this intensive.
The first selection of participants will be announced on the 15th of November. New applications after that date will continue be accepted until the group is full.
