Somatic Work with Children
“The role of movement in play and the role of play in learning”
by Adalisa Menghini
This workshop is a collaboration with Danspunt / Anne Lore Baeckeland. It is an invitation to everyone who is interested to learn more about somatic work with children and the integration of play in dance education with youth. Dance educators, kinetherapists, school teachers, all are welcome to register.
About:
Why is a creative process so important for our cognitive, emotional and physical development?
The workshop will engage in this question, offering possibilities to explore together, through moving, dancing, with a dynamic view of focusing, trusting, supporting, communicating and listening to each other and by playing with the information that we gather with our sensory system (the eyes, ears and skin,) and transform them into beautiful poems in motion. We will look into the role of movement in playing and the role of learning through relational play and in relation to the environment around us.
