About the workshop:
Mat Voorter will guide a workshop in where the participants individually and as group will be guided into improvising, playing physically and with imagination. How images can be manifested physically and how this can develop in movement and how that can transform. Plus how physicality can instantly trigger imagery and how the image can develop and transform. How interactions with others can happen and be adapted instantly through physical or image reading and instant doing. To get able to let dance happen and making dance happen, to be moved and move, to listen and communicate.
Biography:
Mat Voorter has an almost 30 yrs on-going work-relation with his life partner David Zambrano in learning, performing, assisting, costuming, organizing. In summer 2018 they opened Tictac Art Centre, for which he now takes care of all needed in organization, administration. At the same time with friend Thomas Hauert (ZOO) Mat has performed in almost all creations from the start 25 yrs ago of ZOO-Thomas Hauert and already before they were performing together with Zambrano and Gonnie Heggen. Besides that Mat worked with Anne-Lore Baeckeland on performances with children and with NEST with teenagers and in the longer past in productions by Mal Pelo, Michelle Anne de Mey, Terrence-Maurice Mason, a.o.. Meeting and being with pioneers like Joan Skinner, Simone Fort and Anna Halprin and all the wonderful artistic beings in the world who he has witnessed performing or shared time with, have had an impact.
Mat also creates at times costumes, for many creations of Zambrano, the three creations of Les Slovaks, and others.
Plus at times he has been teaching classes and workshops, which could have been flying low, passing through, approaches of ZOO, his approach to improvisation, costume making, and for people with different backgrounds or age.

In the same week, Thomas Hauert is teaching a two week workshop in the mornings. If you book a place for both workshops, you have a discount for 500€ instead of 600 € for both workshosp. In case you include also Horacio Macuacua’s workshop happening on the second week afternoons, you pay 600€ instead of 800 € for all 3 workshops.
