4 Weeks Improvisation Intensive

A 24 day workshop diving into an intensive learning practice to achieve a deep knowledge of Improvisation on Stage, under the guidance and approach of David Zambrano.

Learning to use one’s life experience, being able to consciously and continuously shape one’s energy integrating the body and mind, time and space through the practice of dance improvisation, students learn to create instant pieces of dance onstage in front of an audience. The workshop begins with students improvising solos, duets, and small groups utilizing the class as an audience. Zambrano pushes the students to realize that there is always something more inside and that performing is spontaneous.
This workshop will be assisted by Florian Vuille.

David Zambrano’s biography

David Zambrano es una figura monumental en la comunidad internacional de la danza desde hace más de 40 años, y su pasión por el intercambio cultural sigue influyendo en su trabajo. Zambrano es embajador y enlace a través de muchas fronteras, reuniendo a artistas de todo el planeta para sus proyectos. Ha enseñado su propio enfoque de la danza en más de 75 países y ha actuado en cientos de escenarios de todo el mundo. Sus piezas oscilan entre la coreografía escenificada, la improvisación estructurada y la improvisación pura. Nacido en Venezuela, Zambrano pasó 15 años en Nueva York y ahora vive entre Amsterdam y Bruselas.

Saturdays:
14:00 – 16:00 + Crude Saturdays 18:00 -19:30
