Lucas Sáez Collins

Stage Lab

STAGE LAB is a one-week intensive for performers interested in developing new ways to amplify their creative agency. I believe the best way to practice creation is to set a premiere date and rehearse until that moment arrives. That is exactly what we are going to do.
During this workshop, we will activate the imagination through voice, movement, and writing to build a collective dramaturgy. Using improvisational material, personal biographies, and writing exercises, we will forge a path toward a final piece directed by Lucas and performed by the participants.
• What needs to be on stage right now?
• What is asking to be vocalized, moved, or reimagined?
• Is it possible to write as a collective?

The intensive will culminate in a public performance on Friday night at Tictac Art Centre (Small Studio).

If you are interested in joining us, please answer the following questions:
1. As an artist, what do you want to keep researching?
2. What is your primary fear on stage?
3. Where do you find freedom?

Lucas Sáez Collins's biography

Lucas Sáez Collins is an actor, dancer, and creator dedicated to the intersection of movement and drama. A graduate of the University of Chile, Lucas has spent the last several years bridging the gap between mainstream screen acting and experimental performance.
From starring in Netflix productions such as Sebastián Lelio’s film La Ola and the series Alguien Tiene Que Saber, to collaborating with movement pioneer David Zambrano at Tictac Art Centre in Brussels, Lucas brings a diverse toolkit to his creative process. His recent stage work includes starring in the Chilean production of Duncan Macmillan’s acclaimed monologue Las Cosas Extraordinarias (Every Brilliant Thing), as well as the musical Tick Tick Boom!

As a director and playwright, his projects Ternura and Maniobra showcase a deep commitment to developing new dramaturgies. Whether performing in contemporary dance pieces like Rito de Primavera or high-profile screen projects, Lucas explores the limits of the body and the voice as essential tools for artistic authorship.
