Two dancers leap mid-air on a dimly lit stage. One wears a sleeveless top and loose pants, the other a striped shirt and dark pants. Both extend their arms and legs in dynamic poses, conveying motion and grace.

Artistic Residency

As a hub for improvisation and innovation in dance, Tictac Art Centre, led by artistic director David Zambrano, offers artistic residencies (by invitation only!) to selected performers.

Following the inspiring solo residency project SSS2 (Silo Solo Solamente Part 2) in 2024 — which gathered 27 performance artists from around the world — David Zambrano decided to continue personally inviting artists who have left a meaningful impact at Tictac through their presence, creativity, and dedication to fully performing.

True to Tictac’s spirit, residents have full artistic freedom to shape their week: what they work on, how they work, and with whom. The only request is to share the result of their work in a performance evening on the last day of the residency. These showings have ranged from short solos to full-length group pieces. We love to see where they take their artistry!

The residency format consists of a one-week research period in Tictac’s small studio, with housing and food provided. Each residency concludes with a public performance on Friday evening at 19h, open to the general public, free entrance.

Tictac’s residency program is designed to support performers who are innovating and researching through a consistent style, method, or conceptual framework within improvisation and performance practices.
