Asymmetrical-Motion / Dance methodology
This movement methodology investigates, through a variety of perspectives, the agility of the body for its movement in and through space.
Understanding agility as the most efficient mode to use the skeletal structure in relation to musculature and gravity.
We investigate the asymmetries of the body, the majority existing within the spine: relationships between the skull, the ribcage and the pelvis.
We investigate the supports and distributions of weight, in order to find the inertia produced by the relation between forces and counterweights.
The possibility to perceive space as infinitely open, vast and tridimensional, where the body will move.
The basis of this methodology has to do with the possibility of observing what happens when I place myself in relation to different materials (observing what happens in my body and the bodies of others). From there, deducing to incorporate and learn from the individual and group’s experience.
Understanding the experience of dance as pleasure produced in the moment of discovery.
