November 9 - 4 December

Edivaldo Ernesto, Florian Vuille, Horacio Macuacua, Milan Herich

Café con leche
Café con Leche is a 4 weeks intensive dance workshop. It is a pleasant mix between the strong taste of coffee and the smooth texture of milk, it is hot and is made to wake up your dance artistry!
4 teachers, Edivaldo Ernesto (Depth Movement), Milan Herich aka Miño (Down by Spiral), Florian Vuille (Screw It) and Horacio Macuacua (Sparkling Improvisation) will share their dance practice through the day. The aim of the workshop is to merge different dance approaches that can interact, and share this one month process together.
These 4 artists are very different and come from different movement background, but they share the common experience of working closely with David Zambrano.
Every Class is 1:30 hour and will be taught from Monday to Friday. It is not possible to register for a single class.
Breaks and lunchtime (lunch is included) will provide enough time to digest the information, and go from one class to the other. Thursdays evenings (19:00-21:00) are included in the schedule for performance nights.
Depth Movement – Edivaldo Ernesto
Depth Movement is an intense and dense group dynamic class. It is about energy, about constantly challenging your limits. Understanding what defines you as a dancer and pushing those boundaries over and over again. Allowing the environment to influence your dancing skills, refining tools to create new movement qualities and new rhythms. Digging deeper inside the range of your own personal dance vocabulary, becoming anyone or anything. Working with partnering, multi- directional micro- narrative movement to transforming as a whole group. Learning how to effectively be unpredictable, how to recycle energy, how to use the body as your primary tool. I guarantee a new process of study in which I go as a teacher and guidance parallel to your learning process and makes you do the step of digesting the work to get a completely new level.
Down by Spiral – Milan Herich
Milan Herich leads a very physical and playful technique class that challenges the individual and coordinates the collective group. Through repetition the class will build skills and awareness to move with speed and efficiency. The aim is to alternate between arches and spirals of the body in all directions one can imagine. The class starts with exercises in which we will work on using the range of the body to discover different movement possibilities, and develops into sequences based on the exercises. A full body warm up will begin on the floor and continue through sitting and squatting material. We then continue by walking, running and spiraling, as well as perform phrases that focus on moving the dancer across, around and in and out of the floor.
Screw It – Florian Vuille
Screw it is an improvisation workshop, balancing between the lightness of playing and the power of actions.

It is based on clown exercises and dance improvisations.
It is an exploration of our own skills.
We will dig into our habits to get in touch with them, better, deeper, further.
We will train to do something out of what we think is nothing.
We will start from what we think is nowhere, and reach where we want to go, without getting lost.
We’ll get lost.

This workshop is open for everyone, with no requirement of experience.

Sparkling Imagination – Horacio Macuacua
The inflexibility of the established paralyses the movement, dims the ingenuity, casts a shadow over surprise. But life force makes us adaptable, it gives us the opportunity to transform space and to translate energy into matter, matter into its own evolution. The outline of the spontaneous is blurred to disappear, the margins of the predictable are softened and we know the interrogation point that questions the automatic response. The body allows us to transcend.

Horacio proposes a highly physical work that demands attention, interest and intensity rather than a certain technique level, challenging the potentiality of each dancer to push the limits of body imagination and expression further to discover new and surprising possibilities. “The workshop evolves with what the group offers, as the ability to create and to compose physically require training and attention as well as technique or style. Through the group process the participants learn from each other through acceptance and transformation, collaboration and observation of their own dance and of the whole group. Let’s dive into the work, get the engines started and let the imagination flow! Let’s dance!”
