Lysanne van Berlo
Musiquality Method
The Musiquality Method is a movement approach that explores how to connect music and movement in creative ways. It uses various movement qualities and dynamics to evoke emotions and sensations in the body, offering a fresh approach to improvisation.
Lysanne teaches techniques from hip hop, such as waving, bouncing, and isolations. You will explore different energies and tensions in the body, finding a balance between effort and release. During the workshop, you will focus on dissecting electronic music, learning how to move with its unique rhythms and layers.
Participants are encouraged to explore their own movement style, discovering new ways to listen to music and express themselves with the tools Lysanne provides.
In addition to improvisation, Lysanne will teach a choreography she creates using the Musiquality Method, working with musical layers, the body’s specific movements, and emotions.
Finally, the method helps participants break habitual patterns, finding moments of surprise and creativity in their dancing, working not only the body but also the mind.
