THEATRE WORKS : Voice, Text and Dancing”
The breath thus the word thus the body….these elements and their cohabitation in the dancing body are what we will study.
Entering the techniques which allow and amplify our clear creative working relationship with voice, word and body. Observing the ways these subjects operate and how to naturally use them in our making of improvised (or not) pieces for the theatre.
In this working time we will busy ourselves with the making of sounds, words and text; the choreographic actions which create dancing and dances; the poetic connections which open and allow expression in our sharing with the public in what is called ‘the theatre’.
As part of the technical work which precedes this course subject the workshop day begins with a basic training called “THE SUPPORTED BODY”
This work opens up and refines the different layers and levels of support harnessed by the dancing body….the most basic being the support the MASS of the body gains from its contact with the ground; it does this through the touch of the surface of the ground with the surface of the body.
