Physical – Vocal improvisation practice
This Lab. invites to dive into a universe where you can use your body to talk what you think, to verbalise your thoughts, to dive your imagination into imaginative situations and live them out, talk them out. Discovering a series of characters talking thoughts, verbalising a variety of languages, emerging and liberating emotions and feelings. Approaching verbalisation under its different aspects and facets while analysing words as if they were sometimes movements sometimes objects. A jungle of emotions and intentions will fill up the scenario of the space around you, colouring each experience in something else and unique. A moment to then reflect about the expressed act/ action, to analyse its behaviours in order to be confronted with your inner self.
Manuel Ronda’s biography:
Manuel Ronda 1977 is a performer, teacher and director. He has intensive experience as a dancer and actor with radical physical world known contemporary dance companies. His movement and vocal practices are deeply rooted in the principles of these artistic universes and the contamination of his own views. After recovering from a major herniated spine injury, his primary focus is on utilizing and aligning the spine as a core principle. He aims to integrate both vocal and movement techniques within the body, creating a sensorial and improvisational experience of self expression. His theatrical approach is shaped by the teachings of Grotowski and his own self-exploration following nearly 30 years of creating in the contemporary dance and theatre scene, collaborating with globally renowned artists. Manuel teaches workshops worldwide.
