Tictac Art Centre is an alternative art center situated in Brussels, Belgium. With only 4 years of existence, it has become a worldwide renowned place where different arts like dancing, performing, painting and clothes making and other performance and visual arts come together and coexist under the same roof.
Back in 2018, David Zambrano and Mat Voorter decided to open an emerging space full of art, color and inspiration. A place to invite and meet other artists to share and create.
Tictac is also David’s artistic home, from where he continues to share his pedagogic and artistic work. Tictac is his place to perform his dance, transmit his dance through teaching and watch other artists performing dance. Following David’s dedication, Tictac has become a house for improvisation in the heart of Europe.
The art center is offered to artists with innovative ideas who are willing to share them in the frames of dance workshops, regular dance classes, crude performances, visual arts residencies, and visual arts exhibitions. Same as David Zambrano, Tictac loves spontaneity which is why the activities in Tictac are flexible and allow unexpected artists who will be passing through the city of Brussels to participate in short notice.
In its own way, Tictac has become a new meeting spot for the art community, a house that opened its arms and welcomes artists from all over the world, a place for inspiration to share and keep growing together.
David Zambrano has been a monumental figure in the international dance community for more than 40 years, and his passion for cultural exchange continues to influence his work. Zambrano is an ambassador and liaison across many borders, bringing together artists from all over the planet for his projects. He has taught his own approach to dance in more than 75 countries and has performed at hundreds of venues across the world. His pieces range from set choreography, structured improvisation, and pure improvisation. Born in Venezuela, Zambrano spent 15 years in New York and now lives in Amsterdam and Brussels.
