ACTIVE LISTENING: SYNERGY BETWEEN BODY AND SOUNDSCAPE

Let’s wake up our sense of hearing the soundscape around us and move to it. The soundscape can be a musical composition, a radio program, an acoustic environment… anything making noise (and also the silence) around us. Learn to be active listeners to our soundscape and search for connections and affinities between the audible and visible or why not a possible visible? Let’s try LOOKING with the ears and LISTENING with the eyes…Space and time are our playground on which to play together, where exercises will activate and encourage attentive listening and body reception/transmission, timbral colors and emotions, space and time. In meticulous observation everything can become form and substance synergy.
In my artistic journey of almost twenty years, I have learned more and more over time how knowing how to listen can become the key to creating and collaborating in a free way. A listening body knows how to grasp “details” that can create key movements during a creation.
This is a workshop for dancers. Necessary tools: personal computer, headphones, notebook/pen and yourself. If you play any instrument you are welcome to bring it for the workshop!

Clelia Patrono’s biography:

Clelia is an Italian experimental guitar player, composer, and sound artist based in Brussels, Belgium.

Since 2007, she has dedicated her expertise to composition, sound design, and sound editing across various media, including movies, live performances, sound installations, corporate videos, commercials, and podcasts.
She designed and created sound environments for theatre and contemporary dance, collaborating with international artists.
