MANTRA Choreographic practice in loop

Mantra is a choreographic training proposal created by Edward Tamayo that focuses on the relationship of the bodies with the space, the group and the musicality. It is based on feet and pelvis short sequences, with the exhaustive use of rhythm and repeated in a loop (the Mantra).
In many spiritual practice techniques, mantras are used as an instrument of concentration, relaxation and connection to the present moment. In that sense, we apply these principles to the sequences, using the loop to be connected with our own body, the space and the people who inhabit it.

Methodology
Starting from the influence of Colombian culture and its relationship with dance, festive celebrations and dance marathons, we will go into the search for the connection of the feet and pelvis, through intentions that have to do directly with the rituality of movement. We will let the forms of the body appear by or as a consequence of the musical enjoyment, organizing ourselves in the space to be able to coexist, to influence each other and to be a group. It is about being constantly alert and ready to be together.
